Preface
Volume II extends the algebra you mastered in Volume I into angle measure, the unit circle, and the six trigonometric functions. You will graph sine and cosine with amplitude and period, prove and apply identities, solve trigonometric equations, and use the law of sines and cosines in oblique triangles.
Sixteen chapters cover polynomial and rational review, exponentials and logarithms, inverse trig, polar coordinates and De Moivre’s theorem, vectors and parametric curves, conic sections, and sequences with an intuitive limits preview. Read each section, use the bullet summaries as quick checks, then take the ten-question chapter quiz before advancing.
Precalculus is where symbolic fluency meets geometry — sketch graphs, keep exact values like sin(π/6) = 1/2, and verify calculator work by hand when possible. This course is general mathematics education; confirm grade-critical work with your instructor or institution.
How to use this guide: scroll through all chapters in order, or jump via the table of contents. Each chapter includes learning objectives, cited sources, and section navigation—like a reference textbook, not a slideshow of bullet summaries.
